Trendale Perkins just completed his first year (2018-19) as Interim Head Coach with the Sinclair Community College Women’s Basketball program. On March 9, 2019, Dr. Dave Collins (Provost) officially removed the Interim tag naming Coach Perkins the 6th Head Coach in program history.
Before being named Interim Head Coach, Perkins served as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator over the last four seasons and was instrumental in recruiting two of the players selected for OCCAC All-Conference 2016-2017. Perkins other responsibilities included game day coaching, individual development, daily practice and game day strategies, and emphasizing academic performance standards for success. In his four seasons as an assistant on the Sinclair coaching staff, the team compiled a 83-37 overall record (.692) and the 2017-18 OCCAC Regular Season Conference Championship.
Perkins is a native Daytonian, graduating from Patterson Career Academy. He was a four-year varsity football and basketball player while attending Patterson helping and leading the team to the sectional and district finals in both his sophomore and senior years. He earned All-City, All-Area, and All Southwest District honors as he helped lead the team in scoring and rebounds. Perkins was a four-year collegiate football player at Division I MAC School, Ohio University. He started outside linebacker for two years and played an integral part on the 2000 Bobcat team, which was ranked as a Top 30 defensive unit in the country.
Before coming to Sinclair, Perkins coached youth girls select basketball and AAU across several age groups with Team Dayton Lady Magic and the Dayton Vipers with success.
Perkins earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Health Services Administration with a Business Administration minor from Ohio University in 2002. Perkins and his wife, Dianne, have three children, Jazmon, Myles and Trinity.
