Sinclair Volleyball drops first home match to Vincennes University

Dayton, OH – The Sinclair (0-1) Volleyball team played its first home match of the 2016 season tonight against visiting Vincennes University (3-0) from Vincennes, Indiana.

Sinclair came out strong with impressive save after save from Caroline Smith (5-3/FR – Tecumseh H.S.) and Sarah Bettinger (5-9/FR – Anna H.S.). Blocking played a major role in the first two matches as Aja Howard (5-9/FR – Northmont H.S.) and Meg Reineke (5-10/SO – New Knoxville H.S.) made a strong duo. The Pride fought through but still came up short in the first match by finishing 19-25.

The Trail Blazers consistency in kills made it easier for them to stay ahead in all of the matches. The Pride stayed very consistent with attacks in the second match but it was still not enough and fell through 23-25.

The Trail Blazers expected an easy third match but The Pride came back even stronger from the first two matches. The Pride were up by at least four points throughout the third match. Reineke stayed consistent with her blocking and attacks to try to earn The Pride a win but still came up short finishing the game 23-25
