Sinclair Volleyball drops final match of home stand
Dayton, OH – Sinclair (9-19/3-7) falls at home this afternoon against Lorain Co. 3-0 (21-5/8-2) in annual Pink game for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Playing their third conference match in four days was just a little too much for Sinclair as they lost in three to Lorain Co. The Commodores entered today’s match ranked 9th in the latest NJCAA Division III Volleyball Poll and coming off a 3-0 victory at Edison Friday night.
Lorain did not waste much time jumping on Sinclair as the Commodores went up 12-4 and did not look back for an easy game one victory 25-13.
Sinclair once again fell behind to start the second and had to play from behind. Unlike game one, Sinclair was able to crawl back to within one point (22-23) only to have the visitors quickly score twice to take a 2-0 lead.
Not ready to call it a day, Sinclair continued to battle on every point and keep the game close throughout the early parts 9-11. From that point, Lorain went on a game ending run of 9-3 to put game three out of reach. Even though Sinclair did not throw in the towel, the 9-3 run in the middle we just enough to push the Commodores over the finish line for a 25-17 game three victory.
