MEET COACH JONES
Victoria Jones has been the Head Women’s Basketball Coach since 2014. She is now getting ready to enter her 4th season here at Sinclair Community College. Coach Jones comes with a wealth of experience within women's college basketball, having been coaching for the last 16 years.
After starting her coaching career at the high school level, she accepted the head coaching position at Cincinnati State. In just two short seasons with the Surge, she accumulated a 37-20 overall record (21-7 OCCAC) with consecutive runner-up finishes in the OCCAC before moving on to NCAA Division I Murray State. At Murray State, she we instrumental in helping them capture an Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) championship 2008-09.
Coach Jones once again moved up as she was appointed Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at NCAA Division III Eureka College. In her only season at Eureka, she led the Red Devils to a 17-9 record, a third-place SLIAC finish and a third consecutive league tournament appearance in 2013-14. In her career she has coached and produced 28 All-Conference selections, 3 Player-of-the Years, 1 Freshmen-of-the-Year, 1 All-Freshman Team, 2 All-Defensive Team, 3 All-Newcomers, 4 All-Region players, 3 All-American, 2 Hall-of Famers (MSU), 8 All-America honor student-athletes, one whom was Number One in NCAA Division I. Coach Jones was selected as one of the WUBA All-Star Coaches and coached 1 WUBA All-Star Players.
Since Jones arrival to Sinclair, she has been part of a program that has compiled a 56-33 overall record (.589), several All- Conference selections, along with Academic All-Americans. The program has been ranked nationally twice and they have finished in the final four during her leadership. Coach Jones players also have moved on academically to 4 year schools.
Coach Jones graduated from the University of Dayton as she played her final two seasons from 1999 to 2001 for the Flyers and still holds the school record for most made 3pointers without a miss in a game (6-6). She helped the Flyers to a WNIT appearance in 2001. Coach Jones was an Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s honor roll student. She ranked nationally in NJCAA, second in 2pt fg% (65.9), fourth in 3pt fg% (43.7) and eighth in assists per game (6.6). Coach Jones held honors including honorable-mention All- American and a member of the All-Region team. After college, Jones played in the WBCBL Semi-Pro League in Dallas, Texas for one season. Before returning to UD, Coach Jones attended St. Catharine College in Kentucky for two years.
Coach Jones is a native of Dayton, OH graduating from Patterson Career Academy. She earned her an Associates of Arts degree in Physical Education from St. Catharine College (KY), a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication Management from the University of Dayton, and a Master’s in Special Education from Antioch University. Currently, Coach Jones is the DCI Prison Education Site Coordinator (AJT) through Sinclair Community College.
