Freshman power forward
Amanda Schroeder (6-00/FR – Carroll H.S.) defended her crown as the conference’s D-II women’s player of the week. The Tartan Pride extended its current winning streak to six straight on the strength of Schroeder’s 32.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assist and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of league victories over Hocking College and Columbus State. She shot 63% (27-43) from the field, including a 3-for-8 effort from long range. While effective in Sinclair’s lopsided 130-33 triumph over Hocking College, Schroeder saved her best for the road win at Columbus State by racking up 37 points with 15 made field goals, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block.
Sinclair is off to a fast 7-2 start and 3-0 in the OCCAC that includes a WNBA type 3 game scoring average of 109 points per game. The Pride will host non-conference opponent Cedarville University JV Thursday night at 6:30 in Building 8 Arena.
