Sinclair Women’s Basketball wins big against Clark State 82-76

Dayton, OH-In the annual Pink Game, Sinclair Women’s Basketball (19-6, 8-5) came home from a four-game road trip to defeat the Eagles of Clark State Community College (4-14, 2-10).  While on the road, the Tartans went 2-2, so this was a huge home win for them as the season dwindles down with only 4 regular season games left.

In the 1st quarter, Sinclair had a strong and solid defense, while the offense was working as well.  Reanna Dudley (5-04/SO-Chaminade-Julienne H.S.) started the game off with a foul, but immediately redeemed herself with the first points of the game for Sinclair.  The Tartans went on a 10-0 run against the Eagles.  Defensive rebounds and forcing the opposition to take bad shots pushed Sinclair to an early lead over Clark State.  Four different players for the Tartans had 4 points in the opening quarter and Sinclair led 18-5.

The 2nd quarter had continued success for Sinclair’s offense and defense.  The Tartans started the quarter with an 8-0 run and Madison Connally-Banks (6-01/FR-Fairmont H.S.) had an impressive offensive rebound.  Sinclair had started to pull away early in the 2nd quarter, but was made apparent by halftime with a score of 34-10.  Laquelle Jacobs (5-08/FR-Jesup W. Scott H.S.) had 4 points.

Sinclair started the 3rd quarter with a 13-0 run over Clark State was not done.  The Tartans’ solid defense was able to force sloppy play from their opponents and maintain their dominance.  The offense for Sinclair had good ball and foot movement which led to them leading at the end of the 3rd quarter 60-17.   Both Lauren Roetgerman (5-10/FR-Minster H.S.) scored 5 points for Sinclair.

The offense for the Tartan Pride was quick in the 4th quarter.  Sinclair was way too much Clark State with their offense and defense.  The Tartans had good defensive and offense rebounds throughout and were key to their win tonight.  Sinclair came out on top with a final score of 82-26.

Laquelle Jacobs scored a career high 13 points.

Reanna Dudley (5-04/SO-Chaminade Julienne H.S.) led the team with 19 points.
