Sinclair Women’s Basketball pulls out another win at home 65-53
Dayton, OH - The Sinclair Women’s Basketball (4-3) came up with a close win at home against the winless Hawks of Henry Ford College (0-4).
The first quarter started slow for the Tartan Pride. They were outscored 17-19 by the Hawks. Alona Skipper (5-10/SO – Kettering Fairmont H.S.) had three 3-point FGs in the first quarter while Doriann Carter (5-9/FR – Northmont H.S.) had two four points and Madison Schroeder (6-0/SO Dayton Carroll H.S.) also had four points.
Sinclair was able to outscore their opponent 14-9 in the 2nd quarter to end the first half with a score of 31-28. Madison Schroeder scored another five points
The start of the 3rd quarter was when the game shifted completely the Sinclair’s favor. Their biggest lead of the game was 19 points. Madison Schroeder scored another five points while Madison Patton (5-7/FR – West Carrollton H.S.) matched her with her own five points. The third quarter came to an end with the Tartan Pride up 49-38.
The 4th quarter was a team effort as eight different players contributed to the score. Alona Skipper made her fourth 3-point FG of the game. Sinclair was able to pull away from Henry Ford with a final score of 65-53.
Madison Schroeder lead the team with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Ashtin Brandon (5-10/SO – Dayton Stebbins H.S.), Maya Murray (5-7/SO – Trotwood H.S.), and Alona Skipper had 8 rebounds each. Sinclair was 11-20 at the free throw line.
Sinclair’s next game will be as host against Cedarville University-JV on Monday November 30th at 5:30 pm.
All home games are played in the Building 8 Arena on the downtown Dayton campus.
