Sinclair Women’s Basketball beats Clark State* at home to win 2nd straight

The Sinclair Women’s Basketball (7-8, 1-4) started the game with 18 points in the 1st quarter against the Clark State Eagles (6-9, 0-0).  Madison Schroeder seemed to not be able to miss a shot.  8 minutes into the game and she had scored half of Sinclair’s points with 8 points.  Ashtin Brandon contributed with 6 points of her own.

Madison Schroeder added another 8 points in the 2nd quarter.  The Tartan Pride outscored the Eagles 19-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 37-24 halftime lead.  Alona Skipper added her own 6 points which included a 3-point FG.

Sinclair was not to be stopped going into the 3rd quarter of the game.  Offense was sharp and on-point.  Nothing was slowing this team down and this was evident by Madison Schroeder’s 10 points.  The Tartans were able to put up another 19 points against Clark State and the defense held the Eagles to just 5 points in the 3rd quarter.

The Tartan Pride looked no different in the 4th quarter.  They were able to score 16 points, but allowed 23 points to the Eagles.  Clark State started the quarter on an 8-2 run, but were unable to catch up to Sinclair.  Sinclair came out on top with a final score of 72-52.  Madison Schroeder added another 7 points while Markesa Watson scored 4 points.

Madison Schroeder scored a season high 33 points while notching another double-double with 14 rebounds.  Ashtin Brandon also had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.    

Sinclair outrebounded Clark State 53-36.

Sinclair Women’s next game will be at home on Saturday, January 16th at 1:00 pm hosting Cuyahoga (7-8, 1-2).

*Clark State is Provisional member of the OCCAC and not eligible for any all-conference

All home games are played in Building 8 on the downtown Dayton campus.
