Dayton, Ohio- The Sinclair Lady Tartans win big over Wright State University Lake Lakers 84-35. Breanna Ball (5'7" sophomore guard out of Belmont H.S.) was the game's top performer as she scored 18 points and six rebounds. Sinclair improved to 7-3 on the season while handing the Lakers their third loss of the season to go 1-3. This was Sinclair's largest margin of victory so far this season.
The Lady Tartans got off to a fast start scoring early and often. Breanna Ball had 14 first half points along with five rebounds, four of which were on the offensive end. Lakers were held to only 15 total first half points. They struggled shooting on the floor as they only shot 20.8 percent from the field and were 0 of 10 from shooting beyond the arc. Sinclair only had two turnovers in the half to Wright State-Lake's 12 from 10 Tartan steals. O'Sha Owens (5'5" sophomore guard out of Elida H.S.) led the way in steals with four in the first half. Sinclair was efficient from the floor shooting 44.2 percent even with going 0 for 7 from three.
The second half was not much different from the first as the Tartans kept their efficient shooting from the floor as they shot 50 percent. They were able to convert a couple of baskets from beyond the arc to go 2 for 5 from three for the second half. For the rest of the game, Sinclair went into cruise control as they allowed all 12 players to get above 10 minutes of playing time and have every player put points on the board.
Notable performances included Darnesha Wesly (5'7" sophomore guard out of Meadowdale H.S.), she had 12 points and six rebounds. Maya Murry (5'7" freshman forward out of Trotwood H.S.) was a big contributor on the boards leading the team with seven along with eight points. For the Lakers, T. Elshoff had a game high 20 points and a game high 10 rebounds as she was their only source of production.
The tartans are back in action December 14th at Wilmington College to take on the Junior Varsity team at 3pm.
