DAYTON, Ohio - Sinclair Community College women's basketball team will play Lakeland Community College as their first round match-up of the OCCAC Conference Tournament tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in Building 8.
Sinclair comes into the the postseason conference tournament with an 18-11 overall record and 8-6 in the OCCAC. This was good enough to finish fourth in the conference along with being the fourth seed in the tournament and home court advantage in the first round.
Lakeland finished the season with a 14-15 overall record and finished fifth in the conference with 7-7 conference record making them the fifth seed in the tournament.
The two teams split the regular season series 1-1 with the home team winning each time. In thier first game back on Jan. 17, Lakeland won by the score of 67-61 where player of the game, Peyton Neumore, recorded 14 points from 5-9 shooting comming off the bench.
In thier latest game, back on Valentine's Day, Sinclair took an overtime thriller by the score of 76-75 where player of the game, Breanna Ball, stacked the stat sheet including a double-double from 19 points, and 11 rebounds. She also contributed six assists and two steals in the contest as well.
The winner of this firstround match-up will go on to play the second ranked team in the country and first overall seed in the conference in Owens Community College. Owens is 27-1 overall and a perfect 14-0 in conference. That game will be hosted by Columbus State in Circleville, Ohio. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 6th.
