Breanna Ball (5-6/FR – Belmont H.S., Dayton, OH) freshman forward for the Sinclair women's basketball team (6-6) was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) player of the week for December 2-8.
Ball had back-to-back double-doubles in her last two games. In 72-65 loss to Cedarville JV, Ball had 19 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Then in a 90-48 win over Ivy Tech, she was 15-for-22 from the field while recording 34 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. She posted her second best career high with 34 points against Ivy Tech. Ball had a career high 36 points in a Sinclair 56-47 win over Wittenberg JV.
"Breanna played two great games offensively and defensively," said Interim Head Coach Marcus Stewart. "She scored in different ways by attacking the basket and hitting mid-range jumpers and free throws. Her work on the boards and on defense is a big key to our success."
Breanna is second on the team in scoring this year with 15.3 points per game. She is also second on the team with 6.5 rebounds per game, while adding 1.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Ball and Sinclair will return to the court on Wednesday December 18, when they host Miami University-Middletown at 5:30 PM. All home games are held at Sinclair Community College in the gymnasium in building 8.
