DAYTON, Ohio- Sinclair women's softball team won all seven games this past weekend with a combined 62-17 score line which includes one shutout. The Tartans swept three, two-game series and capped off the impressive weekend with one game match up at Tennessee Wesleyan. With the wins, Sinclair improved to 13-4 over this season and are on a nine game winning streak. They are now ranked 20th in the country according to NCJAA Division II polls.
Sinclair is 3rd in the country in hitting, pitching, and fielding. They are hitting an astounding .436 batting average so far this season. The bullpen has an impressive combined ERA of 3.47 and have the most strike-outs of any team that has played 17 games or less.
GAME 1: Sinclair 5 Ohio Christian University 0
Madison Monnin was four for four at the plate with two doubles and one RBI. Liz Hillen was three for four with two RBI's. Racheal Ward went two for four from the plate including a double. On the mound, Haleigh Perry got the win and the shutout with six strikeouts in seven innings pitched to improve her record to 3-1 on the season.
GAME 2: Sinclair 8 Ohio Christian University 2
Alex Hendrix went four for four from the plate with two doubles and two RBI's. Racheal Ward, Madison Monnin, and Liz Hillen went two for four. Liz had a double on the day. On the mound, Chloe Yates earned the win with four strikeouts in five innings pitched. She improves her Wins and Losses record to 4-3 this season.
GAME 3: Sinclair 5 Mott 2
Liz Hillen was two for four when batting with four RBI's. Madison Monnin was one for two, her only hit went for a double. Haleigh Perry was the winning pitcher for the Tartans to improve her overall record to 4-1. She only gave up 11 hits while striking out four batters in 7 innings pitched.
GAME 4: Sinclair 8 Mott 5
Kelly Wood and Alex Hendrix both went three for four from the plate. Kelly had two triples on the day while Alex had another one. Both also had a home run. Kelly Wood ended the day with four RBI's. Haleigh Perry got the win coming in relief. She pitched two innings giving up only two hits. She improves her record to 5-1 on the season.
GAME 5: Sinclair 4 Tennessee Wesleyan J.V. 2
Madison Monnin went two for four when batting which included a double. Liz Hillen was two for three. Kelly Wood was a perfect three for three with one double and two RBI's. Haleigh Perry got the win for the game as she only allowed six hits and struck out four batters in 4.1 innings pitched. She improved to 6-1 overall for the season.
GAME 6: Sinclair 16 University of Cumberlands 4
Racheal Ward was an efficient four from four from the plate with three RBI's, one home run, and a double. Madison Monnin was two for two with two RBI's and a triple. Kelly Wood was two for four with one RBI and two doubles. Kaila Sturgell was the winning pitcher for the game. She improves to 2-0 on the season overall.
GAME 7: Sinclair 16 University of Cumberlands J.V. 3
Racheal Ward and Madison Monnin were two for two form the plate which included a double for each. Liz Hillen was three for four and a double, while Kelly Wood was two for four with two homeruns and six RBI's. Kaila Sturgell got the final win for the weekend which improved her record to 3-0 for the season. She had eight strikeouts in the five innings she pitched.
Sinclair is back in action this Friday as the Tartans open up conference play by hosting Lakeland. The first of the two game series will start at 3:30.
