Sinclair McNeil earns back to back OCCAC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – For the second week in a row and two out of the first three weeks, Sinclair’s freshman Sean McNeil was named the OCCAC Division II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for November 12-18.

Sean McNeil (6-04/FR – Cooper HS KY) defended his crown as the D-II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week by dropping in 42.5 points per game. He began the week by cramming 30 points into the bucket before exploding for the ‘double nickel’ (55 points) in an overtime thriller versus Bryant & Stratton. McNeil shot 61% (27-44) from the floor and was lethal from beyond the arc, hitting at a 60% clip (15-25). He was excellent at the charity stripe as well, converting on 16-of-19 foul shots.

McNeil did more than score though, adding per-game averages of 6.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists as well.  His 55 points against Bryant & Stratton set a new Sinclair single game scoring mark.  Not only is Sean leading the conference in scoring at 34.4, but he is also leading the nation just not only in Division II but Division I and III as well.

Sinclair (3-2) will return to the hardwood on Saturday after taking a short break on Thursday to serve dinner and volunteer at the Feast of Giving for an estimate 5,000 Daytonians at the Convention Center.  The Pride will host Wilberforce University JV Building 8 Arena on Saturday at 3pm.
