LiDonta Hicks-Gentry earns 1st NJCAA National Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors this season

The NJCAA has just announced that Sinclair’s 6-7 Sophomore LiDonta Hicks-Gentry (Snider HS-Fort Wayne, IN) was named the national D-II men’s basketball player of the week.  Over the three games last week, he averaged 25.0 points and 17.3 rebounds while shooting 63% from the field and 92% from the free throw line.

During his career, he has recorded 25 double-doubles and is only the 5th player in school history to score over 800 points and pull down over 500 rebounds.  His 809 ranks him 23rd all-time at Sinclair and his 529 rebounds has him 4th all-time.  This is his first national player of the week honor to go along with one OCCAC conference player of the week award his freshman year and three so far this season.

Sinclair will play their final home regular season game Saturday in Building 8 Arena at 3pm as the Pride host Edison State.
