Quantes Jackson earns OCCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Four student-athletes were selected Monday (Nov. 13) as the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Basketball Players of the Week. Ryann Greenfield (Cuyahoga) and Quantes Jackson (Sinclair) are the D-II award recipients while Lorain County’s Hannah Oehlstrom and Jovon Jones both collected the D-III weekly award.

Quantes Jackson (6-2/FR – Union HS, Grand Rapids, MI) made two-thirds of his shots overall (12-of-18) and from beyond the arc (6-of-9) for a total 34 points in two games while also averaging 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. His 20-point effort against Miami University Middletown, a career high, propelled the Tartan Pride to a 100-62 road victory.

NOTE:  First career OCCAC Player of the Week award for Jackson.

Sinclair will return to action tonight at they host the Cedarville University JV Yellow Jackets on the downtown Dayton campus in the only arena in the nation named Building 8.  The game will be streamed live on Facebook with additional coverage from the Gem City Sports Network.
