May 3, 2017

Dayton, Ohio-The Sinclair Men’s Basketball staff is pleased to announce the signing of 6-2 Quantes Jackson out of Union HS in Grand Rapids, MI.  Quantes joins an already strong recruiting class from a program that has won 50 games in the last two seasons that includes a conference championship.

A staple of the Sinclair athletic programs is the 3 C’s; being great in the classroom, being an active member of the community with multiple community service projects and finally competition.

During that same 2 year stretch where the Pride won 50 games that included 21 straight and being ranked in the Top 20 for 22 consecutive weeks, the men’s basketball program graduated 10 out of 11 sophomores.

Quantes finished an outstanding high school career with 865 career points, with an impressive stat line his senior season.  He averaged 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assist and 2 steals per game.

The three year letter winner, two year starter at Union was named to the Grand Rapids Press All-Area Dream Team, All-North 1st Team and MHSAA Class A All-State Honorable Mention.

The best performance of his career came on February 24th of this year as Union hosted Muskegon Mona Shotes.  Recording a career high 42 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assist, Quantes guided his team to an easy 90-67 home victory.

“Quantes has come a long way from where he started,” said Union HS coach Brandoen Guyton. “Quantes played very limited minutes as a sophomore, to being a major contributor last season as a junior, and now as a senior he is one of the top 10 players in our area.”
