(4) Sinclair Men’s Basketball Ties record with 84-70 home win

Dayton, Ohio – The Sinclair (13-0/3-0 OCCAC) Men’s basketball team tied the school record for best start to a season and longest winning streak with the 84-70 victory over visiting Wittenberg University JV team (3-5). This marks the 13 consecutive win this season which ties the Sinclair Men’s Basketball record for best start to a season and longest winning streak.
The Pride moved up in last week’s NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Polls from 7th to 4th this week. The next polls should be released after the holiday break on January 5th. The Pride also stand alone at the top of the OCCAC conference standings at 3-0 going into break.
Reshardd Harris (6-4/SO – Detroit Michigan Collegiate H.S.) and Manny Powell (5-8/SO – Gahanna Lincoln H.S.) both finished with 18 points and Akiean Frederick (6-8/FR – Columbus Franklin Heights H.S.) scored 13. DeAngalo Gates (6-2/SO – Thurgood Marshall H.S.) also scored in double figures again with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Sinclair will now take a few days off for the holiday break and return to action Saturday January 2nd at home for a non-conference match up against West Virginia Univ-Parkersburg at 3:00pm. That could be the game that Sinclair breaks the record with 14 straight wins. All home games are played on the Downtown Dayton Campus in the only arena in the nation named: Building 8.
