(4) Sinclair Men’s Basketball Stays unbeaten with 82-75 win over Owens

Dayton, Ohio – The Sinclair (12-0/3-0 OCCAC) Men’s basketball team stayed unbeaten with a hard fought 82-75 win over OCCAC foe Owens (5-10/0-2 OCCAC).
The Express opened up hot as they connected on 4 of their first 5 three point attempts to start the game. On the heels of 47% shooting from behind the arc, Owens lead by as much as 11 before taking a 41-35 lead into half.
The second half was almost all Sinclair scoring the first 10 points as the Pride outscored Owens 47-34 to pull away. Owens did make one final push as they tied the game late only to fall short.
Reshardd Harris (6-4/SO – Detroit Michigan Collegiate H.S.) played strong down the stretch as he once again paced all scorers with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Akiean Frederick (6-8/FR – Columbus Franklin Heights H.S.) scored 19 points on 7 for 8 from the free line and pulled down 6 rebounds. Marcellous Washington (6-1/SO – Lexington KY Bryan Station H.S.) also scored in double figures again with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Manny Powell (5-8/SO – Gahanna Lincoln H.S.) also scored 13 points and handed out 8 assists.
Sinclair will play one final game before break Monday night at 6pm as they host Wittenberg University JV. All home games are played on the Downtown Dayton campus in the only arena in the nation named: Building 8
