(2) Sinclair Men’s Basketball holds on to beat Clark State 76-69
January 13, 2016
Dayton, Ohio – The Sinclair (17-0) Men’s basketball team had to hold on to knock off the Eagles of Clark State (4-13) 76-69 in non-conference action.
Sinclair moved up to #2 ranking this week in the latest NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Polls and with an 80-60 win on the road at Cincinnati State and a 100-88 home win over Lorain County.
Sinclair had a rare off shooting night as the Pride could only connect on 2 out of 15 (13%) from the three point line. That was much of the story line for the Pride as the normally reliable shooters could not find the range
The Eagles was able to hold close as the Pride took a 43-34 lead into halftime.
Leading the way for the Pride was DeAngalo Gates (6-2/SO – Thurgood Marshall H.S.) with his 4th career double-double, 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Sinclair will finish this three game home stand against Cuyahoga on Saturday at 3pm. All home games are played on the Downtown Dayton Campus in the only arena in the nation named: Building 8.
