DAYTON, Ohio – The Sinclair (13-9/3-5) used a career performance from 2013-14 All-Conference Forward Wes Parr (SO/6-6 – Cleveland Benedictine H.S.) to knock off Lorain County (12-11/3-6) Commodores 92-81. Wes has now scored in double figures in all but one game and this was his 10th game over 20 points.
Sinclair came out hot as they connected on 5 of 11 attempts from behind the 3 point arc while holding the Commodores to 1 for 10. Leading the charge in the first half was Wes Parr with 14 points on 6 for 7 shooting.
Sinclair was able to continue to build on hot shooting and solid defense as the lead slowly increased to 18 points. The Commodores made one final push late in the game with key 3points shots and 11 free throw attempts. But in the end, Sinclair was able to protect home court and close the night with a 92-81 victory. This was a good shooting night as Sinclair made 50% from the field and 35% from behind the arc.
Wes Parr had a game high 30 points on 12 of 16 shooting and 6 of 8 from the charity strip. Manny Powell (FR/5-8 – Gahanna Lincoln H.S.) scored 20 points with 5 assist. Marcellous Washington (FR/6-1 – Lexington (KY) Bryan Station H.S.) poured in 13 with 6 assist and Conner Myslowski (SO/6-4 – West Carrollton H.S.) chipped in 12 points and a game high 8 assist. Michael Tillman (FR/6-4 – Richmond (IN) H.S.) scored 11 points off the bench tonight.
Sinclair will continue conference play Wednesday night at Cincinnati State visits Sinclair and the only arena in the nation named – Building 8.
