SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – There is a smorgasbord of institutions represented in this week’s OCCAC Spring Athletes of the Week. Each of the four honors went to a different school.  Dylan Carpenter (Sinclair) and Elizabeth Montgomery (Lakeland) are the Position Player of the Week honorees while Lexi Romine (Edison State) and Doug Smith (Cuyahoga) received Pitcher of the Week laurels.

Dylan Carpenter (Freshman/C– Little Miami H.S.) batted .533 (8-15) with four extra-base hits (two doubles, two homeruns) and drove in a dozen runs while playing in four games during Sinclair’s 6-0 week. He contributed a minimum of an extra-base hit, run scored and RBI in all four contests. Carpenter came around to score seven times in total.

Sinclair is 24-8 overall this year and tied with Cuyahoga at the top of the conference at 8-2.  Sinclair will travel up north this weekend for a conference doubleheader with Lakeland on Friday at Sports Force Park in Sandusky, OH.  They are scheduled to continue the series on Saturday with a doubleheader at Lakeland if weather permits, Sunday will be the make-up date if the games cannot be played on Saturday.
