Tartans Sweep Saints To Open Conference Play

Sinclair continued its winning ways with a four-game sweep over Mercyhurst North East. The wins moved the Pride to 20-4, and extended their winning streak to eight.

Game 1

The Saints took the early lead, with a two-run double in the 3rd, off starter Jacob Bolton. Bolton would settle down, and went six strong innings allowing three runs. Trailing 3-0 in the 5th, Sinclair finally got on the scoreboard when Trevor Hafner hit a two out RBI single. The Tartans used more two out magic in the 6th, when Colin Shepherd and Nick Massey delivered RBI hits, tying the game at three. Matt Pfeffer did a great job relieving Bolton, tossing two scoreless innings in relief as the game went into extra innings. The bottom of the 8th started with a Daniel Merlano walk, and he moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Shepherd. That brought up Brandon Henson, who launched his 4th homerun of the season to rightfield for the walk-off win.
