Cleary named Buckeye Charters Athlete of Distinction for March

Dayton, OH – The Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Baseball’s Connor Cleary (SO/1B – Lexington Catholic KY H.S.) has received the Buckeye Charters Student-Athlete of Distinction Award for the month of March.

Each month the Athletic Department in conjunction with Buckeye Charters, will select a Student-Athlete that has been a leader in all three categories; Community Service, Classroom and Competition – also known as the 3 C’s.

This month we would like to honor Sophomore Connor Cleary of the #3 nationally ranked Sinclair Baseball team.  Connor has been very active with the team this past fall and winter with the many community service project as well as helping out during basketball games as a game statistician.

He has continued to lead the way in the Classroom earning over 3.5 GPA this past semester and is on pace to not only earn Academic All-Conference honors at the end of the semester but also being named to one of the NJCAA Academic All-American teams.

Conner is the starting 1st baseman for the #3 ranked baseball team in the nation and his play and leadership has continued a tradition of excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Special thanks go out to Buckeye Charters for helping establish this monthly award that honors those student-athletes that are great in the three C’s.  Buckeye Charters have been providing quality and reliable transportation for student-athletes around the region as well as many other groups for over 22 years.

They have proven over the many years of partnership with the athletic department that they also value the commitment to high standards, and this is why we are pleased to name this monthly award: The Buckeye Charters Student-Athlete of Distinction
