Dayton, OH – The NJCAA has announced the 2016 Division II Baseball preseason rankings and the defending 2015 OCCAC conference champions Sinclair Tartan Pride, opens the season ranked 8th in the nation.

Coming off one of the most successful season in school history with 50 wins and a dominating 31-2 home record, Sinclair is once again ready to make another run at the College World Series.  Last season the Tartan Pride ran away with its 6th conference championship in the last 7 seasons with a 20-4 record.

Rounding the returning OCCAC All-Conference players, Outfielder Tyler Cowles (OF-Grove City H.S.).

The Tartan Pride coaching staff has put together another championship recruiting class that has been noted by the NJCAA.

As listed by the NJCAA as the top incoming freshman for the North District (Region XII), Pitcher Cole Quillen (Tippecanoe H.S.) and Left Fielder Nick Massey (Beavercreek H.S.).

Sinclair has also landed three 4 year transfers that the NJCAA has listed as to incoming recruits; Pitcher Nick Cecil (NCAA D-I/Evansville Univ), Pitcher Ricky Krieger (NCAA D-II/Ashland Univ) and Second Baseman Chad Roberts (NCAA D-I/Marshall Univ).

The Pride will open the 2016 campaign on the road at Georgia Highlands College the last week of February then returning home for a stretch of 19 of 21 games in March.  The conference season gets underway April 1st weekend as the Pride will host Lakeland for 4 games.
